Senior Engineer (Instrumentation & Control) Reporting to the Chief Engineer (Instrumentation & Control)
Job Profile
  • Ensure break down maintenance is carried out without any delays.
  • Plan and ensure all scheduled maintenance of equipment and systems is carried out on time.
  • Recommend spares to be purchased for either stock or immediate use.
  • Maintain maintenance records for the region or area.
  • Assign and supervise maintenance works within the region.
  • Assist in preparation of tender specifications.
  • Ensure sufficiency of tools for daily maintenance works.
  • Responsible for writing regular maintenance reports.
  • Supervise projects implementation and liaise with other maintenance departments in carrying out cross-cutting maintenance works.
Person Profile
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Served for a minimum of 6 years in a busy organization.
  • Registered and licensed with EBK as a professional Engineer.
Key Competencies
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications.
  • Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and Fibre Optic Cable Systems will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in risk management, quality assurance as well as monitoring and evaluation.
  • Be a team player.
  • Able to supervise and guide staff.

Scope of the Job
The position reports to the Production Manager and will support in process improvement for production of good quality packaging material as per customers specifications.
The person appointed to this role has the overall responsibility to carry out the assigned responsibilities, which shall include shift scheduling ensure all machines are manned with most competent personnel, participate in driving production improvements through WCM pillar and teams and manage employee relations in the course of their shifts.
The position will be based in Nairobi working on shift schedules.

Lutheran World Federation / Department for World Service Kenya / Djibouti program is seeking to recruit Kenyan nationals for the following position to be based in Kakuma Refugee Camp
Senior Education Officer
This is a challenging opportunity for a dedicated and highly motivated professional.
 
Duties and responsibilities will include among:
  • Responsible for planning and implementing education activities for refugees in the camp in accordance with approved project agreements with donor and partners.
  • Responsible for implementing planned and funded education activities in a participatory and cost effective approach that builds refugees capacity and empowerment.
  • Lead role in coordinating with the refugee education committee and other LWF/DWS sectors on educational issues at the camp level.
  • Responsible for carrying out comprehensive half-yearly internal assessment of the Education sector
  • Prepare accurate, detailed and timely monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual
  • Carry out regular school visits, community-level meetings and focus group discussions.
  • Team leader for education sector staff and to train, mentor, discipline and motivate them
  • Supervise education officers and assistant officers, and carry out continuous staff performance appraisals and action planning to ensure the attainment of desired performance standards and objectives.
Professional Qualifications:
  • A degree in education from a recognized university is the preferred qualification.
  • Proven training in curriculum development and implementation, and educational administration.
  • Proven academic or on-job training and understanding of the Project Cycle model in managing humanitarian assistance.
Relevant Experience:
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in managing education programs for refugees or rural communities.
  • Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in proposal and report writing & Excellent Computer skills.
  • Strong representation and negotiation skills in working with UN organizations, partner agencies (NGO)
  • Practical experience of using the Project Cycle tool in the humanitarian sector.
  • Experience in Training of Trainers/Facilitators skills (TOT & TOF).

  • Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills.
